Parsi Food Festival By Radisson Blu MBD Hotel

Whenever I think about Parsis and their culture all I can remember some stereotype characters from our Bollywood films. I have never known a parsi person for real and when I heard that Radisson Blu MBD Hotel has organized Parsi Food Festival I was like I have to try that out.

My biggest concern was that whether being a vegetarian whether I will be able to find anything for me. It was great to discover that Radisson had strike a balance between vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian options to choose from. That was awesome guys as lot of restaurants they at times focus on only one type of cuisine.

patra nu paneer

The menu for this ten day long culinary festival has been specially curated by Master Chef Kaizad Patel, with some of the most authentic and traditional signature dishes from the Parsi kitchen. It was great interacting with Master Chef Kaizad Patel. He told us that “being brought up in a Parsi caterers family, I always knew someday I would always take up this family business”

Kera Nu Cutless

We also got to witness master class in which we learnt how to make Patra nu paneer (although I know I won’t be able to make it on my own)

vengana ravaiya

I tasted Parsian cuisine for the first time. It is a blend of Gujarati and Persian food. The curries will be slightly on a sweeter note like Gujarati Food.

Wafer Per Eedu

If you will ask me I would like to have Makai Cheese Na Patties and Kera Nu Cutless (loved their names as well) For egg lovers Wafer Per Eedu (I am vegetarian but I eat eggs), patra nu paneer, vengana ravaiya. Their parsi peg ice cream as simply out of this world because it is rich with rum. I wish I can cook that nice.

He is the curator of Parsi Food Festival which is a ten day long festival and runs from 14th October to 23rd October. To indulge in an eclectic mix of hot and sweet, nice and spice, which sums up the Parsi cuisine, make sure you head to ‘Made In India’ restaurant, the home grown name popular for being the pioneers of traditional cuisines and reviving cultural heritage through the medium of culinary art.

Made in IndiaTM (MII), an award-winning Indian restaurant is a reflection of culinary time. The restaurant offers a culinary journey, from the State of Hyderabad with its linkage to the Middle East, to the Vijaynagar Empire and its roots in the Telangana. The mighty Moguls and the aristocratic Nawabs of Avadh and of course the legends of Punjab. MII reflects self-indulgence and luxury a beautiful culmination of the opulence of the erstwhile Indian royalties and the contemporary Indian design.

If you are one of those who love trying different type of food at various places you should not miss this festival.
