Roy is an upcoming romantic thriller. The film has been directed by debutant director Vikramjit Singh.

Main Star cast of the film - Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Jacqueline Fernandez, Anupam Kher, Shibani Dandekar.

Arjun Rampal will be playing role of a film maker named Kabir Grewal

Jacqueline Fernandez have double role in the film

R&W Review – Choosing romantic thriller as debut film is very courageous of debutant director Vikramjit Singh. He has worked really hard on the film which is evident from the trailer. The movie is a love triangle between Ranbir, Arjun and Jacqueline. Teaser starts with a huge clock ticking, typewriter (god knows of which generation) typing. Trailer is little confusing and film seems intense. My idea about the story is that Filmmaker is in search of perfect story and his search leads him to the story of a mysterious thief. No one knows about him much after he was missing. Teaser has like few shots of typewriter (I thought it’s also a character) Trailer reminds us of any Hollywood film.  As long as film entertains its audience, it doesn’t matter to me if the film is inspired, copied or whatever from. All three main leads are looking very stylish in the trailer. Shots seem of high clarity. I am a big fan of Ranbir Kapoor. RK impresses with his action, dialogue delivery. I won’t be surprised to see him in this role after watching Rajneeti. He was brilliant in the latter. Arjun Rampal overshadows Ranbir in the trailer, at least that’s what I see (ssshhhh…don’t tell anyone). His look in black Hat reminds me of Raj Kapoor look (I know weird, right?). For Jacqueline I haven’t seen any of her films before. Yes I haven’t seen Kick and I have no regrets about that. Her dialogue delivery injects my imagination where I see a pampered kid who is so happy after getting his favorite toy. She is in double role, jeeezz. I am not sure if I will be able to tolerate that voice for long. Don’t want to be judgmental here. Let’s wait for the movie.

Music album seems nice. Two of my favorite songs have to be “Suraj dooba hai yaaron” composed by Amaal Malik, sung by Arijit Singh and Aditi Singh; the other one “Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan” by Meet bros. and sung by (babydoll) Kanika Kapoor. The former will make audience dance in movie hall. I know I know songs are inevitable to any Bollywood films, but I don’t agree with too many songs for a thriller. Song in background along with story is still fine, but not around trees. Too many songs make film unnecessary long. Suspense becomes boring due to long duration of the film.

The film is scheduled to release on 13th February, 2015. Its valentine weekend and I am sure producers will make profit. I am looking forward to see the film.

R&W Rating – 3.5/5

R&W Recommendation – yes surely recommended. I won’t say it’s must watch, but it will be good film to watch especially during valentine.

I would like to hear what you have to say about the trailer. Feel free to post comments below.
