Hi Friends,
Fashion and Beauty are no doubt the best examples of secularism. Well why not? They both never distinguish between religion, skin colour or even gender. The proof was North East Fashion Week that witnessed a plus size model on ramp Naaz Joshi.
She is a 36 years old transgender model, a perfect role model for all the plus size women in India and across globe. If you think she walked for only one show than no dear she walked for multiple designers like Payal Oshan, Pallabi Baishya, Abhijeet Das, Pallavi Talukdar, Diplu Hazarika. She set the ramp on fire by her graceful walk.
Her success during the North East Fashion week is a slap for all those who consider size zero, petite skinny figure as epitome of fashion and beauty. Anyone from any ethnicity and gender is capable of attaining great heights and Naaz has definitely set an example for lot.
Naaz was born and raised in Mexico. She has been struggling from the time she was born. Her conservative parents send her to distant relative to avoid any kind of questions. She not only ran a successful business but also has established herself in fashion industry. She also writes columns and last time she became the India’s first transgender cover girl.
I strongly feel that transgender in India are look down upon for no reason. This is the time we need to change ourselves and many members like Naaz are coming forward and are setting examples that discrimination in the name of gender is foolishness.
I would love to see more of her work in near future and would like to wish her good luck for her future endeavours.
Stick to R&W
