When Fashion Takes Care Of Health - UCB CSR Initiative

I don’t want to go for check-up. I am not suffering from any kind of disease; I am fit that why should I go for check-up. These were some of the many notions among women of Nakhrola, Manesar when they were suggested to attend check-up camp by Mr. Subhash Yadav an active social worker from the same village. It took him considerable effort to convince ladies of his village to attend breast cancer awareness camp.

All the ladies who came to attend the camp were first told why they are here, and it is not necessary to go to doctor when you are ill. Getting check-up on time to detect cancer in first stage is really important. There was proper seating arrangement for ladies who came to attend. They were asked to fill a registration form from Indian Cancer Society. Three staff was appointed for speeding up the registration process. Once registration was done they were sent for first level check-up where blood samples were collected, their BP was checked. Then in a separate room one to one examination for breast cancer was taking place. Each woman waited patiently in number and doctor attended all the ladies patiently and explained to them.

Manjeet Kaur from Village Nakhrola said that it is important to stay happy. If we will stay healthy than only we can be happy. To stay healthy we have to take care of our health and need to go for check-up time to time. She was happy that UCB came to their village and organized this camp. She said before UCB no clothing brand ever took interest in such causes. She also made lot of women aware why they should attend camps. Kiran Kaur was feeling ashamed to go for check-up. She said that she is healthy and don’t have any disease. Her notion was improved by the end of camp.

Women were made aware why it is important to go for check-up time to time. This was definitely a great initiative by UCB.
