New Delhi, January 17 2016: Triveni Sangam, a social event-cum-meet of ethnic wear enthusiasts was organized on Sunday, by Triveni a Surat based leading retailer of ethnic wear, especially known for sarees. The event saw concourse of fashion bloggers, lifestyle strategists and writers, ethnic wear and saree lovers and participants of Dare2Drape challenge put up by Triveni. The event was held at at Vintage 31- Cafe & Bistro by Navya at Lodhi Road, New Delhi.
Two collections De’Novo were launched at event: Dastoor - 2 and Tamasha - 2 which were followed by interactive sessions when Shalini Raj, Lead Designer, Triveni taught innovative drapes to the ladies and showed them how sarees can offer splendid makeover. Talking about her experience and noting the fervor and response at the event, Shalini said “Many ladies at the event showered praise for Triveni Dare2Drape challenge, and suggested that with something like this they have become more appreciated and known to draping styles which has increased their zeal towards ethnic clothing.
Whenever one is draped in or assembled into ethnics, the way one talks or walks changes, mannerisms are refined and there is an air of grace and sophistication”. The new collections offer an exquisite array of Chiffons and Georgettes with trend setting bedecked bodices. Participants at the event admired the detailing and were credulous for the collection. Richa Singh - Executive Vice President Business Development at Karma Hospitality/Tree House Hotels, Jyoti Joshi - Delhi based entrepreneur, Ridhi Bahl – astrologer and vastu consultant and Vikkie Anand – beauty expert and image consultant to name a few were amongst the discussion and meet.
Attendees shared their experiences and memoirs related to ethnic wear and how in these times when western wears have found spaces in the cupboards, sarees have maintained the same charm and appeal. “An afternoon full of sarees, laughter and coffee. The perfect blend of ethnicity and hospitability” added Dr. Mandira Adhikari, doctor and yoga expert. “Everyone who turned up for the event was very much excited. We shared experiences and insights and learned many styles which left us richer and wiser!” said Garima, one of the participants of Dare2Drape challenge. Thanking the venue partner, Vimi Singh, she applauded the venue and ambience that helped create a perfect setting for all the ladies to mingle and discuss. The event was channelized by Arvind Saraf,Director, Triveni. Quoting about the general splendor at the event, Saraf described the event engaging and demiurgic andfurther added that women sharing their ideas and experiences was invigorative as, when people themselves become the champion of an initiative it takes the ideas and motivation to new level.
